At Lingo Systems, we believe that significant cost savings can be derived from automating the localization process wherever possible. Our proprietary LingoNET® application allows our clients to interface directly with our Intranet and is the framework for all of our automated translation solutions. By streamlining the localization workflow, LingoNET allows for faster turnarounds, while also providing 24/7 online tracking of every project.

Among its many features, LingoNET can detect new XML content requiring translation and then automatically transfer it from our clients' CMS (content management systems) to the appropriate linguistic resources. Other options of this Web-based ASP include allowing authorized users to download translation memories (TMs) and MultiTerm glossaries when appropriate.

Clients who wish to utilize LingoNET are able to automatically dispatch localization work to Lingo Systems from any authorized department or location under one of two scenarios: (1) direct interface with a content management system or (2) manual posting by an approved user.

Files that are received by LingoNET via direct interface will be automatically scanned to identify:

  • The requested language combination.
  • The number of words to be translated.
  • The estimated delivery date based on the number of words.

Alternatively, this information can also be manually entered in LingoNET by separate protocols that allow authorized users to post files for translation directly from their User page. Once the files have been uploaded and the language combination selected, the files will be routed in the same manner as with the direct interface.

After a localization project has been posted to LingoNET, its status in LingoNET will be changed to “In Progress”. The following information will then be available to authorized users:

  • The start date.
  • The due date: Calculated by LingoNET based on the word count in the XML, MS Office, or HTML file.
  • The invoicing status.
  • The language combination.
  • The source format of the file(s) to be translated.
  • The word count as calculated by LingoNET.
  • The number of pages.
  • The link to the Download Control Panel.
  • Other information will include active jobs by requestor (with expected due dates) and jobs awaiting confirmation.
